THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING!!!

Ok...in exactly 3 days from now...i will be boarding my international flight to South Africa!!! I can't express how excited I am to serve and reach the people of Swaziland. I will do my best to update my blog every day about what God is doing but i cannot make any promises. This is an incredible opportunity to fully understand my purpose/calling, missions. This is something that God has put on my heart since the first grade. The verse's that keep coming to my mind are Deuteronomy 31:5 and Proverbs 16:3.

KINETIC pt 1

KINETIC PT1

Hey ALL! It’s me. I posted on twitter this past week that I would write a blog about potential leadership and kinetic leadership. The more I kept writing, the more stuff God was downloading to me. I shared my blog with my dad and the first thing he said was, “Weston, this is to long!” He told me that I should cut out some of this stuff, but I firmly believe that everything in this blog is God given, God driven, and is something that you probably have never heard or thought of before. Because of the excessiveness (?) of this blog, I have decided to update it weekly or biweekly. I will expand the points that I have already written. Today’s blog is just the introduction to the KINETIC series. I hope that you enjoy it!

In Physics, everyone learns the difference between potential energy and kinetic energy. God really got that stuck in my head. Potential is defined by having or showing the capacity to become or develop into something in the future.

I have always been told, "Weston, I see great leadership potential in you!" I would take that as a compliment, not knowing the other side of it. Don't get me wrong. Having potential leadership is not bad! Every great leader starts off with that. Only people with more leadership attributes than you, can see potential leadership qualities. To others, you are "a leader".  The downfall to that is sometimes when people say "You have potential leadership" they don't try to EXPAND YOU!

If no one tries to help you grow, what are you stuck with? Potential.

Now let's look at Kinetic Leadership. The word kinetic is defined as, of, relating to, or resulting from motion.

We know from simple physics that kinetic energy is something that is in motion. Take for instance, a boulder falling from a cliff. Even a whirling tornado shows the massive power of kinetic energy!

Kinetic Leadership is CRITICAL!

Kinetic Leadership is leadership that is active! It is someone who is leading others. They are people that inspire others to grow.  I was talking to one of my friends about this and he stated a very good point. "Kinetic energy can be transferred." This totally expanded my look on this topic!

If one Kinetic Leader has enough energy, he can collaborate with another and they will both move in the same direction. We, as Christians, are called to collaborate with other Kinetic Leaders and move together to a greater purpose, reaching the lost. This involves teamwork. And where there is a team, there's leaders. (Are you starting to see how it is important to have kinetic leaders working with you?)

Now don't exclude those that posses potential leadership. Remember that in Proverbs it says, "Wise men and women are always learning, always listening for fresh insights." (18:15, MSG)  Everyone possesses potential leadership. You gain kinetic leadership through development. 

The next blog will talk about how to develop kinetic leadership and I cannot wait to share it with you!

Sowing, Reaping, Harvest, and Blessings

     Hey everyone! Sorry, its been awhile. My life has been super busy lately. I just wanted to take some time and talk about things that God has been showing me lately.

     I've always felt like my calling is Missions and I firmly believe that God has put a burden for that on my heart. There are many different aspects of Missions. One could be helping others in third world countries. Another could be playing an instrument. Lastly, it could be speaking in front of people. Although I'm ok at the piano, I don't think that is where I will stay forever. I strongly believe that God will use me to speak to others. I don't say this arrogantly, but this is what I truly believe God will use me for. I can't rush the blessing, and I have to wait for the harvest. Here are a couple of points that I would like to share with you. 

          1) A Harvest takes time; it is not a day/night concept

               - Tithe is sowing seed, harvest is reaping the blessing

          2) Watching others receive their harvest doesn't mean that yours wont be greater or better. 

          

     Let me expand on that second point real quick. It might be hard to watch others receive the blessing that you want. First of all, you can't compare their harvest to your seed YOU WILL LOSE! You can't compare what they planted, waited for, and received to what you have done. Each person is like soil. Soil is different every where you go and there are some things that you cannot grow in certain types of soil. What someone else harvests is different than yours because you both have different types of "soil." Another thing that I would like to share is, you can't plant crops in the same soil every year. Every seven years (seven meaning complete in Hebrew) you have to turn the soil and let it sit. This allows the nutrients to come back to the soil. The same thing happens in our lives. There are times that we don't receive a blessing. Its ok(: That doesn't mean that God has forgotten about us or that we don't get blessings. Sometimes God needs us to "sit" and rest in His presence. This will make the harvest even greater and bigger than it would have been if we were to keep sowing and reaping.  This is all i wanted to share with you(:

And now the whole world will hear our cry one more time..

Re-watched the 9/11 videos today...very emotional. It's the first time I've watched them since the 2nd grade (when it actually happened) actually seeing people jump 110 stories (a 10 sec drop) to their death and the horror and terror that fell upon the people. It was heard in their cry and sheiks. I do think that everyone should watch the videos (once they are old enough to handle it) so that they can remember what it was like that fateful morning. I still remember where I was... 2nd grade, Mrs. Faddlers class. A teacher came in saying the twin towers were hit by planes. I was worried for my dad because he was on a plane at that same time. I was crying so hard that the staff had my dad talk to me over the phone. I then knew he was safe. Words cannot describe the grief I feel for the families of the 3,000+ victims that day and now. as we commemorate their fall. And now the whole world will hear our cry one more time...God be with us as we take time to thank those who fought for us and as we remember the fallen :|

One.Hope.One.Love

I really wanted to make a difference in this world and so i was talking to God and human trafficking was really pressed upon my heart. I was talking to one of my friends, Shelbey MacKay, and was sharing with her the vision i had for this. It was on that day July 26, 2011 at Braums in Van Alstyne, Texas that we decided to move forward with this. We based this on Proverbs 16:3, "Put GOD in charge of your work, then what you've planned will take place." We thought that this was a God given verse for a God given dream. Dreams are a vital part of doing God's will, and they need to be dreams that are bigger than yourself. If you can do it by your self then you don't need God and then your dream becomes a self-serving tool. This past summer I was an inter at our church, Family Worship Center (FWC), and every day between 9-9:30 am, we have prayer. So i was talking to God and I was just asking him if this was really from him and how its all going to start, etc. and he just responded with this simple paragraph. "This is from Me. Why else would I have shown you Proverbs 16:3? My plans are good. They benefit others, and bring a message of HOPE and LOVE, mercy and grace. You need to trust ME. I will open doors and finance for your passion. I will give you a name and raise you up to be great, because you have kept me in it. Take me out and you will fail. I'll give you the design, you just do what I tell you to do." - D.A.D.

So I did what he told me to do. The next day I met with Shelbey and we were talking about a name for this and what we were going to do. And since then some of that has changed except our mission which is to help get girls out of human trafficking and let them know that their one hope and one love that will remain is in Christ. This is where One.Hope.One.Love (1H1L) came from. This is how we came to be. One month later we are in August and have a bracelet designed. I met a really cool graphics guy name Paul, and he has been a huge blessing. He helped design these really cool bracelets and is a huge part of what we do.

God has greatly blessed me with awesome people that want to help me to make a difference. This is definitley a God given dream and I cannot do this alone. God has put the right people in place to help me get this accomplished and He will greatly bless them for being a blessing to me. We are not taking donations at this moment but i will let y'all know when you can help support and when you can start buying bracelets.

LOVE

LOVE is something that everyone wants. I have yet met a person that doesn't love someone or something. We all are emotional beings and therefore love is one of the many emotions that we experience. However, we have to be careful with who/what we love. You only have a certain amount of love to give and once you love someone, you give part of your heart away. Many people are surprised when I tell them that I have never dated, kissed a girl, never had a girlfriend, etc. at the age of 17. In this day in age, there are so many young teens that are dating. What people fail to recognize is that when you get really serious, and in your head you tell yourself that you love them, you give your heart away. This is totally normal. God created us so that when we find our spouse, we are totally in love with them and give them our heart. Of course, you cannot give them what you do not have. When you give your heart away, it is very hard and very rare that you get it back. And by the time that you meet your spouse that God has given you, all you can give them is the left overs of what you have not given to someone else. This is why I do not date. I am not against dating, I am just against getting serious at a young age. Last week was camp and God radically changed my life and saved me from my self! It was the most incredible thing ever. Then I realized that how i was living was a lie. I was deceiving my self and others to think that I was loving God. There is a difference between loving God and FALLING in Love with God. This is probably one of the biggest differences that I have seen. I can love my sister, and I do love my sister, but i cannot fall in love with my sister. You cannot marry someone that you do not fall in love with. When you fall in love with someone, you give ALL of your heart away. You completely trust them 100% and love them with all you have. How can I expect God to give me someone to fall in love with if i first do not fall in love with HIM. This has changed my whole perspective. By falling in LOVE with God, I am finding things in scripture that i would have never thought of before because he has changed how i look at things. I love falling in love with God...there is nothing else like it. MEN it is very important that you FIRST fall in love with God and then seek out the relationship of a spouse. LADIES it is crucial that you FALL IN LOVE WITH GOD because he wants to be the first person that you marry and give 100% of your heart to and to trust HIM with it. If you fall in love with God and not just love Him, He will radically change your life! :)
